Audio Description Tours:  Mary Heilmann Exhibition

Whitechapel Art Gallery’s new programme of audio described tours for blind and partially sighted visitors focuses on its current exhibition of works by Mary Heilmann. The Gallery’s first major UK survey of the American artist spans her five-decade career from her early geometric paintings of the 1970s to her recent shaped canvases in
day-glo colours. Featuring a few of Mary Heilmann’s key works, the audio described workshop lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, allowing time for an introduction in one of the education spaces, followed by a tour of the exhibition in Galleries 1, 8 and 9.

The remaining tour dates are: Saturday, 16 July, 1,00pm Wednesday 13 August, 11.30am.

The workshop is free, but places should be booked in advance. If you are interested in attending, please contact Rose Mazillius, Visitor Services Supervisor at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, who is in office Sunday-Thursday, 9.30am-5.45pm. Her contact details are:
