Update: Anne Hornsby - Winner of the International Achievement Award for Audio Description
We are delighted to announce that Anne Hornsby, Secretary of the Audio Description Association, has been selected as the recipient of the 12015 International Achievement Award presented by the American Council of Blind People and its Audio Description Project.
The award was announced at the American Conference in Dallas on July 7th: an honour which recognises her work in the field of audio description for theatre, museums, galleries and film festivals for the last 27 years.
Anne says: "I feel honoured and privileged that my work as an Audio Describer and Audio Description Trainer has been recognised by this award. I have a fantastic job, travelling all over Great Britain and beyond, to increase access to the arts through audio description. I'm luck enough to see some fantastic shows and exhibitions and to meet many of the people involved in these arts events as well as the thousands of people who use the service, and whose visits are significantly enhanced by the audio description."
Many, many congratulations, Anne. This award is hugely deserved and we are all extremely delighted and proud of your achievements across the 27 years you have been providing this wonderful service.
